Avoidance
Crystallized shards inject her
as she fights within the looking glass.
She hammers frantic on the embankment,
fists furious on the sound-proof barrier
gulping suffocation beneath the muted transparency.
Her hazel gaze limp by the weight of my reflection
remaining composed on the edge.
Muzzling her cries with hope’s hour-glass
I force my view awry,
fearing her tears will skitter
to the outside.
